Valley Rock Inn Wedding : Alyssa & Matt: Sloatsburg, NY

An Autumn wedding at Valley Rock Inn located less than an hour from NYC in Sloatsburg, NY.

When you step through the barn doors onto the grounds of Valley Rock Inn, you are instantly transported into a luxe oasis of beautifully manicured landscaping, picturesque guest houses and a stunning tent all nestled under towering mature trees. It would be amazing to book a single suite much less the entire property for a wedding. Alyssa & Matt did just this, employing the help of Daniela and her team at Vision Event Co to produce a truly wonderful weekend to celebrate their union with friends and family.

We could not have been at a more peak moment of Fall as trees were exploding with bright vivid colors framing many of the images. The pastel, fading colors of hydrangeas lining walkways became the theme of the day with this visual element becoming a part of many design details. As getting ready drew to a close we moved into their first look making use of the many interesting textures and colors on site, all accented by the glorious Fall light.

This wedding had an all star cast of vendors which made everything go off without a hitch. I was so happy to work with my long time colleagues at McKenzie Miller Films who filmed this wedding beautifully and unobtrusively.

Valley Rock Inn : Rehearsal Dinner : Sloatsburg, NY

It’s not often that I post images from a rehearsal dinner, but this one was nicer than my own wedding LOL. I love being present at a rehearsal dinner because I get a chance to establish a rapport with key players before diving in to some of the most important photos taken in a person’s life. Maple Field Floral made Valley Rock Inn look just stunning for both the pre-wedding event and the big day. These pictures essentially took themselves.

Westchester Country Club Wedding : Rye, NY

Rosie & Chris were married in December with a wedding ceremony at Church of the Resurrection followed by a reception at Westchester Country Club, both in Rye.

With the winter air just crisp enough to remind us it was December, we were so happy to be able to take some photos outside on the patio of the WCC after getting ready just upstairs with The Luminous Bride. A central figure in the wedding was Chris’ vintage Volkswagen, fresh from restoration. What a cool way to roll off from their ceremony in the stunning Church of the Resurrection. Back at the club, Brian Kirk and The Jirks entertained while friends and family danced the night away. I was joined by my colleagues of LoveBrain Films to document this lovely wedding decorated by Frank’s House of Flowers in Mamaroneck.

River Cafe Wedding : Brooklyn, NY

Rachel & Mike were wed at The River Cafe located on the waterfront in Brooklyn, NY in August.

I’ve come to love Brooklyn Bridge Park for its almost zen like atmosphere. The 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is built adjacent to the park which happens to be adjacent to The River Cafe. This is an indisputable trifecta for getting ready, portraits and reception. On this, my second of five stints at the River Cafe this season, I was met with overcast skies which cast a pleasing calmness and uniformity to the images throughout the day. Having sun is nice of course but there are definitely pros to the softness the clouds can provide.

Liberty House Wedding : Jersey City, NJ

Gina & Ari held their wedding at Liberty House nestled in Liberty State Park overlooking the most spectacular lower Manhattan skyline view there ever could be.

Getting ready at the nearby Hyatt Regency Jersey City, Gina and Ari spent time with their closest friends within eyeshot of he venue a few piers down. We had a glorious, clear July day which was warm but perfect. They enjoyed a first look by the water before the bridal party joined us in the old train station for a bit of a respite from the sun.

It was soon time to return to Liberty House for one of their iconic back patio ceremonies followed by dinner and dancing upstairs. Through the wall of massive picture windows we all enjoyed the evening as the progression of sunset shimmered off the buildings of NYC just across the water.
