William Vale Wedding : Fay & Tom : Brooklyn, NY

Fay & Tom were married June 30, 2018 holding their wedding ceremony and reception at The William Vale hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. When I first saw The William Vale I knew it'd be a great fit both for the bride & groom and for me.  Clean lines, a grand placement overlooking Williamsburg, and sweeping views of Manhattan make this a truly stunning location for an event.  I was indeed even more lucky to have a couple like Fay & Tom whose personal style took the venue to new heights.  From the lighting of the ballroom, to decor choices throughout and the wise idea to skip the first look and take advantage of the pretty evening light, they put on a spectacular event for everyone.

Houston Hall Wedding : Kate & Andrew : New York, NY

Kate & Andrew were married June 9 at Houston Hall in the SoHo of New York City. Fun couples, great details, and an amazing location make photographing weddings a breeze and this was no exception.  Down to the last detail, Kate & Andrew's wedding dreams came alive along with the help of Daniela from Vision Event Co who made everything run smoothly behind the scenes.  As a former FBI vehicle maintenance shop turned beer hall, Houston Hall is a pretty amazing space with tons of exposed brick, high ceilings and a really cool vibe throughout. The Dominick Hotel located just a few blocks away provided a nice style counterpoint to the urban warehouse feel of the wedding and we made use of the exterior for some portraits.  A first look before the ceremony got all of the formal shots out of the way so the bride and groom could stay fully wrapped up in their wedding experience the rest of the evening.

The Foundry Wedding : Brenna & Mark : Long Island City, NY

Brenna & Mark were married May 26, 2018 with a ceremony at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church and wedding reception at The Foundry, both in Long Island City, Queens. The Foundry is one of those venues that you just can't wait to visit.  Couples, vendors, and guests love it alike.  On my first visit here some 8 years ago, I was like where in the world are we going?  Tucked underneath the Queensboro bridge, this corner of Long Island City has changed a lot in that time, but it still feels like you're going to a secret destination, despite how popular The Foundry has become.  I love how flexible the space is and the different characters of the various rooms and outdoor areas come together to make an amazing experience. Just down the street from The Foundry is the Z Hotel where the bridal party got ready before heading to the church.  We stopped at Gantry Plaza Park for some portraits and then utilized the rooftop at The Foundry for some more shots of the bride and groom.  Guests had filled the back patio by then and the party was underway.  One big mention goes out to DJ Duane from 74 Events - I found myself shazaming tunes constantly! I'd like to especially thank the Dugan family for trusting me with documenting yet another family wedding!  It's a great compliment to be referred from one couple to another- and especially so between sisters.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding : Ashley & Chad : Pocantino Hills, NY

On May 5, 2018, Ashley & Chad held their wedding ceremony and reception at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantino Hills, NY. If you're a foodie, window sill farmer, or avid Hudson Valley day tripper, chances are you've at least dreamt about having your wedding at Blue Hill.  Currently regarded as the 12th best restaurant in the entire world, the opportunity to experience this on your wedding day is something immensely unique.  At Stone Barns you can have a large event in their barn, or a more intimate gathering utilizing the restaurant itself.  Since the dining room is used exclusively for dinner service in the evening, Ashley & Chad opted to have a spritely morning wedding and luncheon. Awaiting the bridal party upon arrival was a simple arrangement of some baked goods and freshly cut pears.  As they were surely the most perfectly ripe, meticulously grown pieces of fruit on the planet, I got a chuckle hearing a group of grown men remark at length over the joy they got from a single slice of pear. Ashley & Chad saw each other for the first time in the courtyard with morning sun streaming in.  They were so enthusiastic to be together which made things flow effortlessly for their portrait session before the ceremony.  When you get married in the morning, there is a special "freshness" and new start feeling to the day.  It's romantic, but also exciting. Once the ceremony concluded, we were treated to a tremendously delicious lunch served by the very same people who would be tending to dinner service that evening.  Everything ran seamlessly as such, and the meal was accented with heartfelt speeches. For my first time photographing a wedding at Blue Hill, I was blown away, and I hope to return again very soon.

Central Park Boathouse Wedding : Ally & Danny : New York, NY

Ally & Danny held their Spring wedding ceremony and reception at the Loeb Central Park Boathouse in New York, NY.If you happened to be following my blog last year, you might have seen Ally & Danny's engagement session in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  While the vibe of Williamsburg and Central Park are pretty different, I really wanted to tie both sessions together and give them a contemporary feel for the wedding as well - even on a rainy day in the park.Starting at The Parker Hotel (formerly Le Parker Meridien), we were lucky to be able to use the rooftop for their first look.  The overcast sky actually helped out, keeping the light soft and flattering no matter where you turn.  It's crazy how much building there has been recently along Central Park South.  The skyline had changed substantially since I was last on The Parker's roof a couple years ago!  With skyscrapers towering all around us it was a great place to highlight the two of them in the city.I semi-jokingly call Central Park my "office" with frequent visits to the Boathouse and vicinity for weddings and engagement sessions.  The iconic 72nd St traverse of the park is just perfect with the unique architectural and natural elements that couldn't be anything but Central Park.  The romance of this part of the park is what makes the Boathouse a major draw for many couples.  You're whisked away from the city despite being literally in the very center of it.With a great band and end of the night bites from Valducci's Pizza, Ally & Danny's wedding was great fun for everyone, including me.
