Inn at Longshore Wedding : Connecticut : Westport, CT

Ilana & Danny were married at the Inn at Longshore in Westport, CT in October.
One of the staples of my venue lineups every year is the waterfront club in Connecticut.  The Inn at Longshore sits right on the water with New York City in the distance and sweeping views of the sound with a beach right out front.  For a mid October wedding, the hope is that you could still have an outdoor ceremony but on this particular day the wind was howling and it was downright frigid!  That didn't stop Ilana from shedding the jacket and going with it which I so appreciated.  You'll see, Ilana & Danny are a fun couple that go with the flow and know how to have a great time.  The photos literally take themselves!   Also, I'd already photographed Ilana's sister Dara's wedding earlier the same year so there were so many familiar faces right off the bat.
After coming back inside to thaw, it was time to prepare for their Jewish wedding ceremony beginning with the signing of the ketubah.  A beautiful ritual where the bride & groom are surrounded by their parents and sign a sacred document, they are in fact officially married before what we all think of as the ceremony is underway.
With guests arriving, the sun really began to stream in casting a warm glow over the ceremony.  Despite being inside, it was still a beautiful and fortunately warm moment.  After everyone cleared out, the staff of The Inn were busy flipping the space for the reception as Flowers by Danielle accented the space with gorgeous florals.

University Club NY Wedding : NYC Wedding Photographer : New York, NY

Kelly & Joe were married October 13th at the University Club on 5th Ave in New York City.As you'll see, there are few rooms like the ballroom at the University Club and it's always an amazing opportunity to shoot in. Kelly got ready in one of the lovely suites before a first look and portraits in the club's library and outside in the city. Within a single block there's so much to work with between the streets of New York and the Museum of Modern Art! TriBeCa Rooftop Wedding : Jenna & Ryan : New York, NY

As I sit here on the final Saturday of winter before my season ramps up, I'm reminded of this tremendously joyous wedding at TriBeCa Rooftop in September. With getting ready at Hotel 50 Bowery on the edge of Chinatown in Manhattan, this wedding was stylish and fun. I can only imagine what the experience must be like for the guests at a wedding at TriBeCa Rooftop being literally enveloped by New York City on 4 sides!

Oheka Castle Wedding : Adriana & Mitchell : New York, NY

A wedding at Oheka Castle in Huntington, Long Island is one I'm always looking forward to as it is a a magnificent place to photograph in. Adriana & Mitchell must have gathered a lot of good luck for their wedding because it rained all day but that didn't stifle anyone's spirits.

Roundhouse Beacon Wedding : Julia & Scott : Beacon, NY

  Where were you on New Year's Eve?  I was up in the Hudson Valley at the gorgeous Roundhouse Beacon for Julia & Scott's end of 2018 celebration.  It was an amazing event. As I began photographing getting ready, the rain began to fall.  (One can imagine snow being a factor at a December wedding upstate, not rain!)  But that's ok, the Roundhouse is rich with opportunities for photography and the time soon sped by as we made our way through their portrait session.  The striking entrance to the ballroom was put on display as guests made their way for the ceremony under the beautiful chuppah.  Viridescent Floral Design did an amazing job throughout and when my wife walked by the computer as I was editing a pic of the chuppah, she's like... "that's a nice chuppah".  Indeed.  Between a great couple, the decor and Julia's Oscar de la Renta wedding gown, the pictures took themselves. I quickly recognized the folks from Marcus Reid Band at Hank Lane and knew they'd keep the party alive well past the stroke of midnight.  This was absolutely the case as the dance floor quickly exploded with Julia & Scott's family and friends. The last few clicks of the shutter at the end of the year always feel profound at the end of a long season.  45 weddings this year!  It was exciting to share that moment in Beacon.
