There’s a particular kind of quiet beauty to December at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY. The trees outside the massive windows are bare and graphic against the sky. The light turns blue early. Inside, wood beams glow warm overhead and everything feels intimate in a way that only winter can create.
Bobby & Nathan’s wedding was the final celebration of my 2025 season, and it felt like the perfect ending.
They chose to get ready together in one of the Roundhouse suites, and I loved that choice immediately. There was no artificial separation, no big staged reveal — just the two of them adjusting bowties, laughing, checking cufflinks, moving through the morning side by side. The energy was calm but excited, grounded but joyful. Their tuxedos from Indochino were classic and sharp — velvet jackets, satin lapels, clean tailoring — exactly right for a winter evening in Beacon.
The design of the day leaned winter without ever feeling Christmas. Evergreen installations wrapped the staircase. The ceremony backdrop was lush with pine, white florals, and layered texture — sculptural but soft. Florals by Flora Good Times felt organic and seasonal in the most refined way. The boutonnieres were delicate and thoughtful — creamy blooms with subtle green tones that stood out beautifully against black velvet.
Lighting by LNJ Events transformed the reception space as the sun went down. The exposed beams, string lights, and brick walls took on this golden warmth, while outside the windows the Hudson Valley slipped into a cool blue dusk. That contrast — warm interior, cold exterior — is one of the reasons winter is one of my favorite seasons to shoot at The Roundhouse.
We made portraits inside at the bar and lobby, where the architecture frames everything so cleanly. Then we stepped outside briefly — just long enough to catch that crisp air and get a few street and terrace portraits. You can see it in their posture, the way they naturally lean into each other when it’s cold. It adds something real. Then it’s back inside where cocktails are flowing and guests are glowing.
The ceremony was warm, humorous, and emotional all at once. Officiated by One Hearts Ceremonies, it struck that perfect balance — personal stories that made everyone laugh, followed by quiet, meaningful moments that pulled the room in. At one point, both of them were laughing mid-vow while guests wiped away tears. It felt human. Unscripted. Completely them.
The reception room looked incredible — round tables set beneath string lights, greenery framing the windows, candlelight flickering across the floor. And then the energy shifted.
The dance floor was lit. Truly. Matty Stuart and the band absolutely brought it. From the first song, the room was packed. Jackets came off. Bowties loosened. Guests surrounded them, singing, pointing, hyping them up. At one point they popped champagne with pure theatrical drama — hands up, laughter, spray catching the light — and the whole room erupted.
Their guests were fun in that effortless way — fully present, fully celebrating. It made photographing the night feel electric.
Ending 2025 with Bobby & Nathan at The Roundhouse felt right. Evergreen wrapped the staircase. Candlelight flickered against brick. Outside it was cold and quiet; inside it was warm, loud, and full of joy. I genuinely loved shooting this one.
Winter in Beacon never disappoints.
Fall Roundhouse Wedding : Kiera & Stephen : Beacon, NY
It’s hard enough to get a date at The Roundhouse - but at peak foliage? That takes some serious planning ahead. Kiera & Stephen’s Autumn wedding at The Roundhouse was a beautiful afternoon surrounded by the rich color of the season. October at The Roundhouse is like stepping straight into a Pinterest board, except it’s real life. For this couple, the timing couldn’t have been better. Fall foliage was at its peak, and the golden hues served as nature’s best accessory to the day’s events.
The day began in one of The Roundhouse’s recently renovated suites. Rich wood tones, moody lighting, and minimalist design made it the perfect backdrop for those pre-ceremony moments. There was this calming energy in the suite, as the bride slipped into her gown and shared a quiet toast with her bridal party—proof that beautiful lighting isn’t just for photos; it also sets the perfect getting-ready vibe.
With a clear, crisp autumn day came some early afternoon direct light that was impossible to ignore. We took the couple into the street, where dynamic, angular light scraped across the building’s façade, creating bold shadows and highlights. The bride’s red shoes? Absolutely owned the moment, popping in every frame. The outdoor ceremony kept the vibes intimate, with the golden-hour sun filtering through the surrounding trees. When it came time for the kiss, the best man and maid of honor ensured it wasn’t just celebrated—it was champagne-showered.
As dusk crept in, guests were guided indoors for the reception, where the one and only Matty Stuart set the mood. The industrial chic interior of The Roundhouse was all class, contrasting beautifully with the warm, emotional energy of the day. Between clinking glasses, laughter spilling from banquet tables, and the rhythm of a packed dance floor, the evening was everything a Roundhouse wedding should be.

Anna & Zach held their wedding at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY up in the Hudson Valley this past Spring.
Writing this in July, it feels as though I photographed this wedding a few weeks ago. It’s crazy how quickly the year flies by! The Roundhouse was in in top form looking beautiful just as the first signs of Spring were emerging. Anna & Zach adorned the space with bright yellow forsythia which was striking against the rustic, industrial vibe of The Roundhouse.

Roundhouse Wedding : Ashley & Evan : Beacon, NY
Ashley & Evan were married in August at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY located in the Hudson Valley.
My fourth of five weddings last season at The Roundhouse, this particular one was pushing more in the modern direction accented with the clean lines and bright color palette. It’s fun to shift gears and go classic one day and a bit more structural the next. This is one of the fun parts of being a photographer with a pretty varied client base. I was flying solo on this one and began my day with a few minutes in Evan’s room while he threw his tie and jacket on. I ran across the parking lot to the restaurant building to catch the end of Ashley’s prep and then it was time for a first look on the balcony. We hit up some gorgeous spots on the property for photos before guests started to filter into the ceremony space. The striking A frame “arch” set the tone for the vibe and I was treated to some cool directional light which was highlighting guests in various ways.
Weather can be an unpredictable variable in the summer so cocktails began inside but guests filtered outside as the sun sat on the horizon. We took the opportunity to take a few portraits in that delicious golden light and then made our way into the ballroom which had been transformed by Raven Rose florists.
Roundhouse Beacon Wedding : Julia & Scott : Beacon, NY
Where were you on New Year's Eve? I was up in the Hudson Valley at the gorgeous Roundhouse Beacon for Julia & Scott's end of 2018 celebration. It was an amazing event. As I began photographing getting ready, the rain began to fall. (One can imagine snow being a factor at a December wedding upstate, not rain!) But that's ok, the Roundhouse is rich with opportunities for photography and the time soon sped by as we made our way through their portrait session. The striking entrance to the ballroom was put on display as guests made their way for the ceremony under the beautiful chuppah. Viridescent Floral Design did an amazing job throughout and when my wife walked by the computer as I was editing a pic of the chuppah, she's like... "that's a nice chuppah". Indeed. Between a great couple, the decor and Julia's Oscar de la Renta wedding gown, the pictures took themselves. I quickly recognized the folks from Marcus Reid Band at Hank Lane and knew they'd keep the party alive well past the stroke of midnight. This was absolutely the case as the dance floor quickly exploded with Julia & Scott's family and friends. The last few clicks of the shutter at the end of the year always feel profound at the end of a long season. 45 weddings this year! It was exciting to share that moment in Beacon.
