Maritime Parc Wedding : Jersey City, NJ

Kaitlyn & Javier were married in Jersey City at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception followed by dinner and dancing at Maritime Parc in Liberty State Park.

Kicking off my 2024 season in the best way, I had a truly fun time photographing this wedding celebration in March. As the summer changes in New York I’m seeing my season shift somewhat towards an earlier start in Spring and later wind down in the winter time. It was cool but not frigid on this day allowing for plenty of outdoor photos. As sometimes happens at weddings, a slight delay in the form of a twice as long as anticipated ceremony didn’t trip us up giving us an opportunity to take some photos in the street and around Liberty State Park before Kaitlyn & Javier made their way inside to party with friends and family.

We began the day with some getting ready photos at the lovely Canopy by Hilton Hotel Jersey City before making the short walk to the church. Brit Pooler of “Plan with BP” kept us all on target making for a stress free day. More and more I’m seeing an informal approach to a wedding party and on this day friends of Kaitlyn and Javier joined towards the end of getting ready for a toast. I really like this approach.

At the wedding reception Kaitlyn & Javier kept me around after the last dance to photograph their “hora loca” which really took things up a notch. Kaitlyn changed into a literally electric dress and all the guests were outfitted with all sorts of glow in the dark paraphernalia. It was a good time.

Lake Waramaug CC Wedding : New Preston, CT

Lizzie & Robbie were married “upstate” hosting their wedding at Lake Waramaug Country Club in June.

As a NYC wedding photographer, the bulk of my work is in the immediate tri-state area and The Hamptons. On this particular occasion I headed north a couple hours to New Preston. This was definitely the first time I’d been asked to photograph a bride and groom water skiing the day before the wedding. It started to pour… everyone was soaked (including me), and it was amazing. What a great kickoff to their wedding weekend.

The wedding day itself was a whirlwind of the emotions of getting ready with friends, dodging the changing weather, the exuberance of the first moments after saying I do, fireworks, food trucks, after party.. the list goes on. I was so happy and lucky to be involved.

Sole East Resort Wedding : Ying & Eric : Montauk, NY

Ying & Eric were married in the exquisite Hamptons, choosing the relaxing getaway Sole East Resort in Montauk, NY for their wedding ceremony and reception.

It makes for an early start to my day, but I love the drive to Montauk. When you’re headed East from NYC, there is a point a 90 minutes or so in where the trees transition from your typical random highway-side assortment to these ethereal, sea-green pines. This is the moment where any lingering stress begins to dissolve, even if I'm on my way for work.

This lovely couple asked me to come to Sole East to document their day after photographing their friends’ wedding in the city at The Pierre. I love these types of referrals that take you between two opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of venue style.

Upon reaching Montauk, I had a couple of hours to spare before I was to start by documenting the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. I utilized this time to familiarize myself with the venue and scout potential locations for photography. Located just a few moments from Sole East, we made our way to the bay side which was absolutely serene. We gathered the bridal party and family there after the first look and then it was off to the ceremony under the absolutely gorgeous sky that we were offered in the Spring.

SECOND Floor NYC Wedding : Kevin & michael : New York, NY

Kevin and Michael tied the knot in early spring at SECOND Floor NYC, situated within the Eventi Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

This unique venue combines the charm of an urban industrial loft in Brooklyn with all the amenities of a towering NYC hotel. The location is perfect as Madison Square Park is just a stone’s throw away, providing a stunning backdrop for couples portraits. During cocktail hour, the entire wall of windows surrounding the bar can be raised to create an indoor/outdoor ambiance, weather permitting. A distinctive feature is the massive Jumbotron screen, which projects a slideshow of images across a courtyard. The grooms chose to showcase their beloved cat, making it seem like he was present at the event. What really stood out to me about this particular wedding reception was the use of an amazing disco ball. I think all weddings should have these! When it comes on - people go nuts haha.

I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to shoot at SECOND again, and the vibe was nothing short of fantastic.

Park Hyatt Wedding : Ellena & Kevin : New York, NY

Ellena & Kevin were married at The Park Hyatt New York on Billionaire’s Row in New York City.

Walking in to this event at the beginning of the day, it became immediately apparent that the bride and groom had worked tirelessly to create a beautiful, unforgettable atmosphere for their family and friends. With two towering trees framing the ceremony, the height of the Onyx Room at the Park Hyatt was an amazing backdrop for what was a wedding that literally tantalized all the senses. A custom fragrance blend blanketed the space which set a luxurious mood but also served as a sensory memory to which the bride and groom could refer back to throughout their years together. Every last detail was customized to be one of a kind including the music Ellena walked down the aisle to.
