Jen and Nate started the day at Hunters Point South Park, out on the cantilevered pathway that seems to stretch straight across the East River, the Williamsburg Bridge towers rising up behind them and the skyline stacked in the distance — the kind of backdrop that makes a simple hand-in-hand walk look like something out of a film. From there the wedding party regrouped at Domino Park, fourteen of Jen and Nate's closest people gathered under a woven canopy with the bridge looming overhead, laughing so hard mid-photo that half of them didn't make it into frame with their eyes open.
Brooklyn Winery has a way of making a room feel lived-in before anything's even happened in it. Exposed brick, reclaimed wood, a wall of hanging greenery that climbs almost to the ceiling — it reads less like a rented-out event space and more like somewhere you'd stumble into on a Saturday afternoon and not want to leave. That's the room Jen and Nate got married in: warm, a little wild around the edges, string lights threaded through the plants overhead.
The ketubah signing happened at a long wood table under that same warm light, friends leaning in over Nate's shoulder as he signed, Jen watching with her hand already laced through his. Two grandmothers found each other before the ceremony and held hands like they'd been saving up all day for it. The ceremony itself ran right under the plant wall, Frank and Bailey Bolton — friends of the couple — officiating in place of clergy, the room hushed and green and glowing.
Cocktail hour moved easy for an hour before dinner: beef tartare passed on wooden boards, menus printed with the date and a green goddess salad to start. Dinner sat everyone at candlelit farm tables under the same living wall, the sweetheart table framed by cascading orange, pink, and yellow florals from Rosehip Social that spilled almost to the floor — the kind of arrangement that makes the whole room smell like a garden. Toasts ran the length of the table, wine glasses raised, the room laughing along before anyone even sat back down.
Then the smaller room lit up — a disco ball overhead, the crowd packed in tight, everyone still in their toasting clothes and dancing like it. Nate had his bow tie half undone by midnight. Jen was mid-spin, laughing at someone off-camera. It's the kind of energy that doesn't happen unless the room lets it — and Brooklyn Winery, brick and green and candlelit, gave them exactly that.

When Hannah & Elias imagined their wedding day at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, chances are the scenes playing in their heads looked a lot like their magical October day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. With an electric blend of autumn colors and heartfelt moments, this wedding photographed itself.
Getting Ready in Style
Fall weddings, especially at such an iconic venue, are all about planning and preparation—but Hannah nailed it down to the last detail. She and her bridesmaids prepped at Social Fame Studio, a nearby hidden gem that doubles as a bridal ‘command center.’ (Note to future brides: this beats squeezing your wedding squad into The Palm House’s bridal suite or one of their more "functional" than aesthetic classrooms.) With plenty of room to breathe, laugh, and sip some bubbly, Hannah was all set to shine.
Meanwhile, Elias kept things laid-back and wildly fun at home—guitar in hand, whiskey glass in the other. Classic groom energy right there.
Exploring the Grounds (Thanks to Elias’ Secret Map)
Now, when your groom creates a personalized photo route around the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, you know you’re in for something good. With an almost surgical precision, Elias charted a path through the gardens, and it paid off. Think sun-dappled leaves, vibrant flora, and endless Fall lighting.
Pro tip for future couples? If the gardens hold a special corner in your heart, don’t hesitate to share your favorite photo spots with your photographer. Sure, I love guiding couples to find the best shots, but there’s something magical about hearing your vision for the venue.
A Ceremony Under the Willow Tree
What’s more romantic than a chuppah adorned with fiery Fall colors? Answer: absolutely nothing. Against the backdrop of the glorious willow tree, these two tied the knot in front of friends, family, and that picture-perfect golden light. Just one look at their ceremony photos, and you’ll understand why outdoor ceremonies at magic hour are a total win.
Oh, and the 7 blessings? They hit every note of heartfelt perfection, made even better by the absolute bliss on Hannah and Elias' faces throughout. When they paraded down the aisle, arms raised triumphantly, the energy was electric—as if Beyonce herself had just hit the stage.
Party Time at The Palm House
After the ceremony, the cocktail reception welcomed guests with all the flair this iconic venue is known for. But the real kicker was when Hannah and Elias rolled—yes, literally rolled—into their reception on scooters.
When the newlyweds made their big entrance, Elias had a little something extra up his sleeve. A professional guitarist and singer with the Pow Pow Family Band, Elias serenaded his new bride with an original song under The Palm House's glass dome. Hardly a dry eye in the house.
From then on, it was nonstop energy. You Pick Entertainment delivered a performance that had the crowd dancing like there was no tomorrow. The band lit up the room until the very last note of the night echoed through the gardens.

I see a lot of photography of South Asian weddings that seems so melodramatic. I love bringing a more documentary approach so that we can get a sense of personality and let the rich colors and traditions speak for themselves. This wedding at 99 Scott was so full of life - what a joy to photograph.

Stef & Kyle were married in Spring at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.
I kicked my season off last year with this amazing wedding on a perfect Spring day in May. Stef & Kyle’s day was packed full of emotion from beginning to end which is quite simply fun to photograph. There are some really nice moments with Stef and her mom and dad during the getting ready. While more and more couples are asking me if getting ready photos are necessary, I have to point to pictures like these. It’s really not about capturing makeup brushes. Not to mention it’s nice to have a second to get used to a camera being around before we dive right into some of the most important photos of the day (bride & groom portraits).
Brooklyn wedding venues come in all shapes and sizes but Liberty Warehouse is unique in its ability to host hundreds of people in such a way that doesn’t require renting every fork, table and chair. There’s no beating the terrace overlooking the water and experiencing a ceremony there at sunset is something guests will never forget I am sure. I love the way the light changes the vibe and mood as the sun slips under the horizon. Some couples opt for their reception upstairs which offers white walls and more of an open feel. Others set up downstairs for the industrial look and indoor/outdoor component that allows guests to walk outside for a drink. Either way it’s a win - and I always love the enormous getting ready suite for the bride and wedding party.
